About Dr. Ohlinger
I’m a licensed naturopathic physician in Oregon and California, offering in-person holistic primary care to Oregonians and also long-distance consulting to patients in California. I received my BA in Health and Society at Wellesley College, and completed naturopathic medical school and residency at NUNM, here in Portland. In that time, I finished my thesis in Epigenetics and completed courses in integrative Medical Research- which I still find vital to my practice!
I feel obligated to say here that I feel uncomfortable describing myself! But it’s also important to celebrate ourselves - something that a lot of us don’t necessarily get a lot of opportunities to do! I think it’s important to celebrate how far we’ve all come as individuals and as a community. We are all uniquely and beautifully different, and this is part of the intersectionality of who we are, what drives us and what affects our health. We’re complicated and amazing human beings, and I’m hoping to help however I can- whether thats through the care I provide, or through other resources I can connect you to.
In my care, I hope you’ll find a compassionate provider who listens to you, and helps you figure out the options and directions to health that fit your lifestyle. I look forward to working with you!

Some areas of expertise:
Integrative Mental Health: We all have mental health, it’s what makes us human! From neurotransmitter testing to genetic testing, alternative options and medication management (because there’s nothing wrong with needing medication sometimes), we can help you feel more like YOU again.
Vaginal, Uterine, Ovarian Health : Including hormone balance, menstrual irregularities, fertility consulting for couples of all identities, vaginal infections, libido support
Gender Neutral and Affirming Hormone Care: A symptom-based (as opposed to reference-range based) approach to hormones. Yes, I still test hormones when indicated, but I use the results in the context of you and your experience (example: high testosterone isn’t always a bad thing!)
Diabetes and Prediabetes Treatment/Management: Including insulin management, support through long-term lifestyle change and success in blood sugar and lifestyle goals- whatever that may look like for you.
Endocrine and Metabolic conditions: Including thyroid and adrenal conditions.
Sex-positive STI Testing and Screening: Whatever your orientation or relationship status, let’s create a plan to keep you safe and to allow you to love freely and in your own way.
Hormone Balance for Menstruating Athletes: Ever wondered if you should be changing your workouts/warm ups/activities around your cycle (hint: yes!). I’ve compiled the existing research on how cycling hormones affects everything from muscle development, to injury risk, to joint mobility, mood and beyond, including how the ‘pill’ can sometimes limit that development. Ready to optimize your workout/movement routine? Lets get started!
I manage a wide variety of complaints, so please feel free to email and ask about what I could do for you!
